Stephen Johnston

Stephen is a dedicated software developer by profession and has a profound passion for the art of bonsai. Born and raised in Atlanta, GA, Stephen developed an early interest in technology, psychology and nature leading to a unique blend of skills and hobbies.

Stephen has over 25 years of experience building online software and organizing teams to create and grow SaaS software companies. Stephen has built technologies in all phases of company growth from startup to Fortune 500. He has a B.S. in Psychology from Northeastern University and greatly enjoys the intersection of humans and software. His work with large scale data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) helped lead to his development and awarding of multiple patents in machine learning technologies.

In need of a hobby that was not on a computer, Stephen found bonsai and was immediately enamored. After number of years, he has again combined his passions of both software and bonsai. As a member and board member of the Atlanta Bonsai Society he enjoys both the hobby and comradery of workshops, events, and the other artists.
