📅 Seasonal Bonsai Care & What to Watch For & Key Temperature Tables§
Stay ahead of seasonal shifts with these guick reference tables, ensuring your bonsai thrives year-round. These docs are arranged in a progression that allows you to focus on key elements.
- Season – Use this seasonal calendar to organize your bonsai care in a way that shows what is "standard" in the seasonal transistions and then adjust to your tree and microclimate. Not everything is driven by the month, and certainly not in every area and micro climate.
- Temperature – While a calendar based approach is useful, the next step is paying attention to key temperatures and milestones. Whether it's Late March or Early April the transition to nightime and daytime temps are indicative of the type of care that can be considered.
- Observation – A true step in mastery is learning to pay attention to your tree instead of the calendar. In this way you can use the general season as an indicator of what to expect, but also respond directly to your tree.
🦠 Pests & Diseases Management§
- Observation – Start by identifying the type of issue
- Common Pesticides & Fungicides – A reference table summarizing common pest‐ and disease‐control products (insecticides, fungicides, oils, etc.), typical use cases, and general applicability across the four main bonsai categories—Pines, Junipers, Deciduous, and Tropicals. Example brand names are listed to help you identify products in garden centers, but always read the label carefully and follow local regulations.
